Two Ways CalTel Can Help You Save with California LifeLine
We believe everyone in our community deserves access to dependable communication services. That’s why we’re proud to offer two California LifeLine programs that help qualifying households lower the cost of staying connected.
You may qualify if:
- Your household income meets California LifeLine guidelines, or
- You participate in certain public assistance programs such as Medi-Cal, CalFresh, SSI, or other qualifying programs.
Only one California LifeLine discount is allowed per household, so you’ll choose whether to apply your benefit to eligible phone or broadband service, depending on your family’s needs.
California LifeLine Home Phone Service
The California LifeLine program has helped eligible households save money on their home phone service for years. If you qualify, you can receive a monthly discount on your residential landline phone service.
For many households, a home phone remains an important part of daily life. It provides reliable communication during emergencies, offers peace of mind, and gives families another dependable way to stay in touch.
California LifeLine Home Broadband Pilot Program
Reliable internet is no longer a luxury but a main utility, like electricity or water. It’s essential for work, education, healthcare, banking, and staying connected with family and friends.
The newer California LifeLine Home Broadband Pilot Program helps qualifying households make home internet more affordable by providing monthly discounts on eligible broadband service.
Eligible customers may receive:
- Up to $20 per month toward standalone broadband service
- Up to $30 per month when broadband and phone service are bundled with the same provider
- Up to $39 toward eligible connection charges once per year for new service
The program is designed to help make dependable internet more accessible for Calaveras County families.
Which Program Is Right for You?
Every household is different.
Some customers depend on a reliable home phone to stay connected with family and emergency services. Others may benefit most from affordable home internet for streaming, remote work, online learning, or telehealth appointments.
Our local team is happy to help you understand your options and determine which California LifeLine benefit best fits your needs.
