CalTel Internet is excited to offer a new Low Income Broadband Plan (LIBP), designed to make high-speed internet more affordable for those who qualify.
Plan Details
- $45 per month for eligible customers.
- Fiber areas – Speeds of 100/100 Mbps. *
- DSL areas – The highest speed available at your service address. *
- Recertification is required annually.
*Equipment rates may apply.
Who Qualifies?
If you currently qualify for LifeLine, either on your landline or cell phone, you are eligible for this plan.
For others, eligibility requirements match those of the now-defunct Affordable Connectivity Program. Specific eligibility requirements are listed below.

Qualifications for CalTel Internet Low-Income Broadband Plan
To qualify for the CalTel Internet Low-Income Broadband Plan, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- Participant in Public Assistance Programs
- Medi-Cal (Medicaid Program)
- CalFresh (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – SNAP)
- SSI (Supplemental Security Income Program)
- Section 8 (Public Housing Assistance Program)
- Tribal TANF (Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
- Tribal Head Start Program
- Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance
- FDPIR (Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations)
- VA Pension/Veterans Survivor Pension
OR
Current participant in California-specific public assistance programs: - WIC (Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children)
- LIHEAP or HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program)
- NSLP (National School Lunch Program)
- One of the following general assistance programs:
- TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)
- CalWORKS (California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids)
- StanWORKS (Stanislaus Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids)
- WTW (Welfare-to-Work)
- GAIN (Greater Avenues for Independence)
- Income Eligibility
- Annual income up to 200% of the Federal Poverty Level qualifies.
- Refer to the income chart based on the number of people in your household.
- CalTel will verify your income using tax returns.
